Welcome to our School

Maynards Green Community Primary School is situated in a peaceful, rural setting adjacent to the beautiful Cuckoo Trail. Its buildings, extensively renovated in 2006, are clean, bright and smart and are further enhanced by attractive displays of children's work. There are currently 218 children on roll.

Children enjoy coming to school and parents find the school a safe and inspirational environment. The team of experienced staff quickly get to know the children and their families and work particularly hard to make learning interesting and enjoyable.
Children come first at Maynards Green School. We have a strong commitment to the care and nurture of our children and believe that when children are happy and feel safe, they are then free to learn and enjoy all aspects of school life.  They make good progress, and the standards in English, Maths and Science are consistently higher than those reached by similar schools both locally and nationally.

We offer a very rich learning experience for our children, both in and outside of the classroom. We use our extensive grounds at every opportunity and children enjoy many educational visits and visitors to the school to enrich their learning.

Visits to the school are welcome at any time of the year. Please telephone the school on 01435 812622 to arrange a mutually convenient date and time.

Thank you and I look forward to showing you our wonderful school!

Simon Hughes, Headteacher

    News from Friends
HI Just an up date on the recent activities and events that we have organised. I have say it is great that we get such a high level of support from the parents, staff and some children who help at these events, by setting, up, running the event and clearing up after the event.. Without this support and all the volunteers that help, we could not hold such events and raise much needed funds for our school and our children. Recently we have held our first craft fair, which has the idea of two people who took it on themselves to set up and run this event, it was a great success with many parents and friends buying early Xmas presents from local traders, and this event which the traders that were there want to hold again , raised £265.54. Then we had the lovely Christmas cards designed by the children, with the sales of these cards, tea towels, mugs and your great support by buying these items, we made £674.15. Lastly the Christmas Fair, which was a great success with some lovely themed hampers by each year group ( the winner was from Year 3), with your generous support again before the day by purchasing raffle prizes, bringing in chocolate for the chocolate tombola, bringing cakes for the cake stall and also bringing in the envelopes of change and the bags of goodies and on the day sales from the various stalls we made £1619.55. So for these three Winter events we raised over £2559.24, which will be used to pay for a new roof over our swimming pool, work on this will start in the Spring ready for the Summer term.. I cannot thank everyone, but for a school of our size to raise this amount of money is wonderful and it is great to see our children benefit from your generosity.... We are always looking for new ways to raise money, if any of you have any ideas how we can improve what we do, or have ideas on new events or wish to volunteer to help us at Friends, please contact me at friendsofmaynardsgreenschool@gmail.com. Can I both personally and as Chair of Friends Of Maynards Green Primary School, wish Mrs Poole all the best in her retirement and to thank her for all she has done for our children over the last 13/14 years at Maynards Green Primary School, you will be greatly missed Mrs Poole. We will be back in January our first event is the School Disco on the 24th January - details to follow, but put it in your diaries now.. Lastly can I wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and New Year, Kind regards Rupert
