Communicating a Closure Before School Starts
If the decision to close due to heavy snowfall or flooding is made during the night, the Headteacher will decide by 7:30 a.m. that morning.
The decision is communicated via:

School Website: Posted on www.maynardsgreenschool.co.uk

Local Radio Stations: Announced from 7:30 a.m.

Email: A message will be sent to parents/carers and staff as soon as the decision is made.

Facebook: A post will be shared as soon as the decision is made.

Whatsapp: Class Reps will be asked to share the message via the class whatsapp groups.
Communicating a Closure During the School Day
If an early closure is necessary due to heavy snow/rainfall or another emergency during the school day:

Email: Messages will be sent out to notify you of the closure.

Website & Facebook: The school's website (www.maynardsgreenschool.co.uk) and Facebook will be kept up to date.

Whatsapp: Class Reps will be asked to share the message via the class whatsapp groups.
What Parents Need to Do

Other contact who can collect: Inform the school of who you could ask to collect your child if we are unable to get hold of you (e.g another parent or a neighbour.)
