WELCOME TO OUR NEW RECEPTION CLASS FOR 2026 - 27!

Dear Families,

A very warm welcome to you and your children as they begin their exciting journey in Reception! We hope you have all had a wonderful summer break, and we are very much looking forward to welcoming everyone to school.

As this is the start of a brand-new school experience for all of our children, we understand that there may be lots of excitement, questions and perhaps a few nerves too. Please do not worry – we will be here to help the children settle in, make new friends and become familiar with their new routines.

Here are a few important things to know for the term ahead:

👟 PE

Our PE day will be Thursday. However, the children will not begin PE lessons until Spring Term 2, so there is no need to send your child to school in PE kit during the autumn or the first part of the spring term. We will send out a reminder closer to the time with further information about the PE kit.

🌿 Outdoor Learning

From after the October half-term, the children will take part in Outdoor Learning on Mondays.

Please ensure your child comes to school with suitable clothing for the weather, including a warm coat and appropriate footwear. As the weather becomes cooler and wetter, they may also need waterproof clothing and wellies. Please make sure that all items are clearly labelled with your child's name.

A Quick Note on Starting School

Starting Reception is a very special milestone, and we know that settling into a new school can take time. Our main priority is helping every child feel happy, safe and confident in their new environment. We will spend time getting to know the children and establishing routines gently as they settle into school life.

Thank you so much for your support as we begin this exciting new journey together. We are really looking forward to a wonderful year ahead!

If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch.

Warm regards,

Mrs Osborn
