Dr Kim Twinn
YEAR 2 PLANT TOPIC
Kim, a STEM ambassador who works at Wakehurst, came and helped Year 2 explore the school grounds identifying the wide variety of plants. The children then made some lovely natural art from the plant debris they collected on the way round.
Year 5 Lifecycles
Kim came and spoke to Year 5 during their Lifecycle topic to talk about plant sexual and asexual reproduction. The children carried out a flower dissection and used microscopes to look at the details of the parts of the flowers up close.
Year 6 Seed planting
Kim also helped the Year 6 children plant some seeds into our raised bed area and revised their knowledge of the needs of plants. The children then produced Google Slides presentations for a whole school assembly.
